First and foremost, always keep your candle away from direct sunlight to prevent the essential oils from yellowing the wax. Additionally, be sure to keep the lid on your candle vessel to maintain the fragrance throw throughout its lifespan.
When lighting your candle for the first time, it is crucial to burn it for at least 2 1/2 hours to ensure that tunneling does not occur. As you continue to use your candle, remember to trim the wick to a quarter of an inch before each use to avoid soot buildup and potential fire hazards. It is also important never to burn your candle near flammable items or for longer than four hours at a time to prevent accidents and unwanted damage.
When burning a vessel that has natural pitting, that has been sealed, always burn within sight, and take care and caution, when deciding where to place this vessel, during burning time. In the unlikely event, a vessel with natural pitting loses its sealant and wax becomes loose from the candle, place the vessel on an unwanted towel and wait for it to cool. Then follow these steps to remove the wax and proceed to use the vessel as an accessory. First placed the vessel in the freezer for a couple of hours, and the wax should shrink slightly. This should allow you to remove the majority of the wax then use a wooden spoon to remove the remaining wax. Using soap and water is preferable to further clean and we do not recommend using any solvents or abrasive cleaning tools. Warm water will soften the leftover wax and a disposable paper towel should be used to wipe down the vessel, thoroughly. I in the case of travertine, we recommend non-food items be stored in the vessel.
